About Musket Media

The Musket Media is the independent student news outlet of Orange Glen High School. The student news staff is comprised of students in grades 9-12, enrolled in the Multimedia Storytelling course. This course is an A-G approved F elective, as well as a Career and Technical Education course. The class is articulated with Palomar College and students earn three units of college credit for each full year of enrollment in the class. This website was launched on March 10, 2025, by a staff of 15 students. The staff aims to update the content on a weekly basis, at minimum, but strives for updates three days a week. Students in the class meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Editorial Policy: We will strive to represent the news accurately; meet professional journalism standards; avoid publication of rumor, gossip and innuendo; provide necessary constructive criticism while simultaneously suggesting changes. The student editorial board will interpret and enforce the Editorial Policy. The staff as a whole is responsible for all material published. Administrators have a non-review role. They do not control prior to publication, but may offer advice in the coverage of sensitive issues, or criticisms after the publication of such subject matter. This publication is a student-run and student-generated open forum. This publication is supported and protected by California Education Code 48907.

Letters to the editor and other reader contributions are welcome. All content contributions or feedback can be emailed to adviser Jessica Young ([email protected]). All submissions must include a first and last name, along with current contact information. The student Editorial Board reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, space and style.
