Every year AVID senior students are required to make a presentation for their peers to teach them different skills that they could use throughout their life. Students present these skills weekly during the middle of March and early April. The lessons can vary from how to use an air fryer, gardening, time management to as simple stress relief. The presenters have to include activities so the class can get a hands-on experience to get used to the feel of the skill they will be learning and possibly use in the future.
“In senior AVID there is already so much to do but what else can we do to help seniors prepare for college while also improving their skills in presenting, speaking and listening,” Senior AVID teacher, Isabella Eannarino, said.

On March 26, two AVID students Brissa Rivera and Karen Hernandez did a presentation on how to use an air fryer to teach the class the benefits, prices and brands of air fryers and gave out food to the class for them to taste how food in an air fryer tastes.
“We felt like we did want to do some sort of cooking but everyone was trying to do base cooking so we wanted to do something different,” Karen Hernandez, 12, said.
Before the presentation started the class were prompted to make an Ad to promote the air fryer that was going to be given away to the best advertisement. The presentation had ended and the lucky winner was Dianela Dominguez.
“I really didn’t think I would win out because I heard everyone else’s was gonna be super funny and creative,” Dominguez, 12, said.

“I have an air fryer and I use it everyday so it’s like a very convenient thing to be able to have to easily cook meals,” Hernandez, 12, said.
