Ballots are live! Students can now vote in the Associated Student Body elections. These elections will help determine who represents each grade level, as well as the Associated student body as a whole. The voting is conducted via the 5Star App and students will have to enter their ID number to verify their grade-level specific votes. Each student has two ballots to complete–one for ASB officers and one for their specific grade. The process can be a little confusing for students, but ASB Adviser Lania Padilla has shared the necessary steps with all teachers.
“The entire student body may vote for ASB officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer). Then, students may vote again for their grade-level representatives (Senior President & VP, Junior President & VP, Sophomore President). There will be two emails with links – they should vote on both. Authentication of their identify will be their student ID # and their last name,” Padilla said in an all-staff email.
Participating in elections is an important way that students can make sure that their voices are represented in the decision making process on campus. Class officers and ASB officers are able to share student perspectives and ideas when working with their respective committees and planning school events.
